In our second anniversary special, hear from Visiopharm CEO and founder Michael Grunkin. Digital pathology, with regulatory approvals for whole slide imaging, aims to increase precision & productivity in pathology labs. However, slow adoption is due to high investment costs beyond just the scanner. Image analysis and AI hold higher value for pathology, but standardization of tissue diagnostic assays is still lacking. Only fully digital pathology institutions benefit, but incremental adoption could increase adoption & value for all. Learn more in the episode and from Visiopharm’s contributions to digital transformation in pathology.

Data extraction from virtual slides is the foundation for the identification of novel patterns that are difficult or impossible to quantify by the human eye. Along with innovative technologies like high plex immunofluorescence, artificial intelligence allows the caption of deeper insights, contextual information, and describes spatial relationships.
Presented at the virtual Pathology Visions 2020 meeting during Visiopharm’s Industry Workshop on Monday, October 26, 2020.
