Agnete Overgaard

Agnete Overgaard

Research Scientist, Gubra

Agnete Overgaard has worked with Gubra for the past three years as a research scientist in the Tissue Research department. In this role, she is responsible for processes ranging from optimizing protein and mRNA visualization in tissue preparations, all the way to image analysis and histopathological evaluation of biopsy preparations from Gubra’s diverse animal models.

Recently, she was involved in the development of deep learning-based histopathological scoring of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, which enables objective evaluation along with quantitative outputs.

Agnete Overgaard was previously a postdoc within the neurobiology field at the University of British Columbia and Copenhagen University Hospital Rigshospitalet, and she holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Copenhagen.

Joseph Allison

Joseph Allison

Research Technician, the UK Dementia Research Institute, King’s College London

Joseph Allison MSci is a Research Technician at the UK Dementia Research Institute, King’s College London. Joseph studied and received his MSci degree from King’s College London with two extended research projects involving behavioral assays in Drosophila to elucidate the development of ‘negative’ associative learning as well as AAV stereotaxic injections in mice to determine the neural connectivity underpinning sunlight-mediated mood and cognition.

In 2019, Joseph joined the Christopher Shaw Lab with the team’s research focus centered around gene therapy and pathomechanisms in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia. Over the last two years, he has worked in the histology team processing animal tissue for immunohistochemical and fluorescent staining with subsequent imaging on a slide scanner or confocal, multiphoton, and calcium imaging microscopes. Joseph is now in charge of quantifying the images obtained using software such as Visiopharm to develop apps informing business decisions through analysis of efficacy and toxicity.

Fabian Schneider

Fabian Schneider

Service Project Lead, Visiopharm

Dr. Fabian Schneider joined Visiopharm in October 2020 as part of the R&D and Product Management teams, responsible for the Phenotyping Product and the Service projects for Custom APP development.

Fabian received his Dr. phil. nat. in Cell Biology in 2011 from the Johan Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany studying signaling pathways in Medulloblastoma formation and tongue cancer. He went on to do a postdoc in the laboratory of Prof. Rune Toftgard at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, investigating human basal cell carcinoma and stem cell biology. From there he led the laboratory of Neuropathology at the TUM, Munich, Germany.

In 2015 he joined the Roche Pathology group in Penzberg (PTA), Germany, as a scientist developing IHC assays for clinical analysis of immune-oncology studies. Additionally, as a project manager, he had oversight of immuno-oncology study sample analysis and data flow with a cross-functional interface to clinical teams. Fabian went on to join Definiens AG in 2018 as a Pre-Sales Consultant. After the integration of Definiens (2019) into AstraZeneca, he became a Translational Scientist within the AZ Translational Medicine Team, leading a cross-functional team within Computational Pathology.

Moritz Radbruch, DVM, DACVP

Moritz Radbruch, DVM, DACVP

Veterinary Pathologist, Bayer CropScience

Moritz currently works as a consultant pathologist for computational pathology for Bayer CropScience and at the startup Aignostics.

At Bayer CropScience, you can find him working for the group Pathology & Mechanistic Toxicology, located in the technology park Sophia Antipolis in France.

He has studied Veterinary medicine/approbierter Tierarzt (≈DVM), and has a residency in veterinary anatomic pathology at the Institute of Veterinary Pathology, Freie Universitaet Berlin in Germany. In 2019, he got his certifying examination as a specialist in pathology as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (anatomic pathology).

His biggest sub-interest in vet med right now are pathology and histologic image analysis.

Tobias Højgaard Dovmark

Tobias Højgaard Dovmark

Research Scientist, Novo Nordisk

As a research scientist at Novo Nordisk, Tobias works with image analysis of histological samples. He has previously worked for Visiopharm as an image analysis specialist.

Tobias has a Ph.D. in Physiology, Anatomy, and Genetics from the University of Oxford and an M.Sc. in Molecular Biomedicine from the University of Copenhagen.
